This class is designed by Carnegie Mellon University's National Robotics Engineering Consortium.
This class uses the motivational advantages of robotics to teach math, science, and technology concepts. The class is aligned with standards developed by the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and the International Technology Education Association.

Students will...

  • Observe teacher demonstration of the following: Tankbot building instructions, Touch Sensor and Light Sensor examples, Gear demonstration, ROBOLAB programming demonstration.
  • Complete several teacher assigned programming exercises that reinforce the concept the teacher demonstrated that day
  • Problem solve an Open Ended Challenge at the end of each activity that students can use to reinforce their understanding of: Programming Logic, Motors and Timers, and Light and Touch Sensors.
